Kimberly S. Collins, PhD
Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine
Bio
Dr. Collins is an Assistant Scientist in Medicine. She did her graduate work in Pharmacology, followed by post-doctoral training in Clinical Pharmacology and Nephrology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Her doctoral research focused on the identification of age-related changes in hepatic microRNA expression, mRNA binding sites, and genetic variant associations with microRNA binding and drug metabolism. During her post-doctoral training she studied sources of variability in response to mycophenolic acid in autoimmunity.

Dr. Collins’ current research interests include:
• Studying sources of variability in response to mycophenolic acid and tacrolimus for autoimmunity.
• Implementation of personalized anti-hypertensive therapy and use of genetic factors to predict risk of chronic kidney disease progression.
• Studying transcriptomic signatures of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease to understand disease progression and identify new targeted therapies.
