Bio

Dr. Cortney Demetris was born in Bay City, MI and attended undergraduate university in nearby Saginaw, MI. She obtained her medical degree at Michigan State University in Lansing. Her pediatric residency was at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Demetris has been working as a Pediatric Hospitalist for 17 years, with special interest in patients with complex chronic health needs admitted for acute hospital care. She was a founding member of Child Abuse Pediatrics at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in 2008 and currently serves as the medical director of the team.  She also works as a member of the Child Protection Team at Riley and provides expert care to children suspected to be victims of child abuse across the state of Indiana.  Dr. Demetris is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics.  She currently resides near Butler University in Indianapolis, IN with her five daughters and two dogs.  She maintains her sanity with frequent yoga, time spent outdoors among the trees, and lots of good books read with a cup of tea in her hands.
