Bio

Dr. Jan R Kornilow MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine Indiana University School of Medicine Indiana University Health/Ball Memorial Hospital. He works as an Attending Emergency Physician and a Wound Healing Center Physician at IUH Ball Memorial Hospital and has been a faculty member at IUEM since 2009. He has practiced at Ball Memorial Hospital for over 23 years, ever since finishing his residency. He is an EMS Medical Director for the majority of EMS, Police, and Fire services in the East Central Region. He is actively involved with Tactial/Police EMS being a sworn Law Enforcement officer for both the Muncie Police Department and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department. He is also a Delaware county Deputy Coroner, helping death investigations. He graduated from Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1994.   He completed his internship and residency at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital in 1997. His clinical interests include EMS, Resuscitation, Trauma, and Wound Healing. He is the recipient IUH President’s Values Leadership Award Medical Staff in 2018 and Health Care Heroes East Central Indiana Physician of the Year 2009. Outside of the department, Jan enjoys golf, boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
