Bio
Dr. Dan Waxman is the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the Indiana Blood Center (IBC) in Indianapolis, Indiana and Clinical Professor of Pathology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Waxman received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and his medical degree at the University of Kansas. After completing a Pathology Residency and a Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Waxman held positions at the Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City, BloodCare in Dallas and was the Chief Executive Officer of the Southeastern Michigan Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross in Detroit.
Dr. Waxman is on the AABB Board of Directors and is a past president of the Kansas City Society of Pathologists, Heart of America Association of Blood Banks, Indiana State Association of Blood Banks and America’s Blood Centers.
Dr. Waxman is the 2012 recipient of the Victor H. Muller Achievement Award from the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks and the 2012 recipient of the Hemphill-Jordan Leadership Award from the AABB.
