Bio
Providing care for veterans in the general outpatient clinic exposes one to a variety of diagnoses including PTSD, mood disorders and substance use disorders—often times in the context of many co-morbid medical conditions. The patients can be quite complex and present a fantastic educational opportunity for residents and students. The wartime accounts of the veterans offer a rich historical perspective that is fascinating and enlightening as well. Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association from 2008 to present.
