Bio
Kevin Valentine, MD, joined the IU School of Medicine faculty in 2014. He trained at Wayne State University, Children's Hospital of Michigan. Currently, he serves as Associate Medical Director of the Cardiovascular ICU, Chair, Riley Hospital Heart Center Quality and Safety Council, as well as Chair, Riley Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Quality and Safety Council. He sits on several committees that are crucial to aligning the care and safety model for the hospital and system-wide delivery of care for patients.
Dr. Valentine specializes in pediatric cardiovascular intensive care. He is focused on creating a culture of safety. He has led efforts to improve education for parents, to improve nutrition for his patients and to provide safe discharge from the hospital resulting in more days at home for parents and patients.
Dedicated to the academic mission, Dr. Valentine is on the editorial board of Frontiers in Pediatrics-Pediatric Critical Care and the Journal of Pediatric Intensive Care.
Sharing his time and talent, Dr. Valentine has participated in multiple medical mission trips to the Dominical Republic. In his free time, Dr. Valentine enjoys travel, spending time with his family as well as coaching and attending his children's sporting events.
