Bio

After completing his pediatric residency at West Virginia University and his fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Riad Lutfi, MD, joined the IU School of Medicine faculty in 2012.  He serves as Service Line Leader for the Pediatric Critical Care division.

Dr. Lutfi is an outstanding teacher, as recognized by medical students and residents.  His current research address the need to educate community hospital partners in the stabilization and transport of critically ill pediatric patients through the use of high fidelity medical simulation.  Dr. Lutfi finds tremendous rewards in the service he provides through international vocational congenital heart disease mission trips.  His work truly addresses all three components of the academic mission.

Dr. Lutfi is active in all services provided by the section of Pediatric Critical Care, CVICU (cardiovascular intensive care unit), PICU (pediatric intensive care unit), sedation services and transport medicine.

He and his wife enjoy giving back to the patient and family communities.
