Bio

Heather grew up in Springfield, Illinois.  She obtained her undergraduate degree in biology at Saint Louis University.  She completed her medical degree at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and then traveled east to complete a Pediatrics residency in Charleston, SC at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008 where she was the recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Senior Resident Award for Teaching and Leadership.  Her education then took her to the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she completed a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship in 2011.   Heather is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, as well as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship.  She works exclusively at Riley Hospital for Children.  Academic interests include clinical education, simulation education, and faculty development. Outside of the hospital, Heather enjoys traveling, Cubs baseball, cooking, and good books.
