Bio

Myda Khalid MD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine and the Associate Fellowship Director for the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program. Dr. Khalid received her medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Pakistan followed by pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, Dartmouth University. She completed her Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard University School of Medicine. Dr. Khalid has received multiple teaching awards and been recognized by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor. 

She is the Clinical Research Program Director for the Division of Pediatric Nephrology with extensive experience in multi-center research and leads several clinical trials in pediatric nephrology at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Dr. Khalid is recognized as a national expert in the care of children with rare glomerular disease as a NephCure specialist and has advocated for support of affected children in Washington DC with this organization. Dr. Khalid’s research interests are in glomerular diseases including IgA nephropathy/vasculitis, minimal change disease, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, membranous nephropathy and shiga-toxin associated hemolytic uremic syndrome. She serves as Co-PI in NIH funded research projects in glomerular disease with the CureGN research consortium and shiga toxin- associated hemolytic uremic syndrome with the HIKO STEC consortium. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium and chairs several national NIH committees through her research.
