Dr. Clements is faculty within the division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Toledo. He completed his pediatric residency and global health track at Riley Hospital for Children, where he also served as a Chief Resident.
Dr. Clements is passionate about the care of newborn babies. He currently serves as medical director for well-newborn care at Riley Hospital for Children. He participates in the IU Health Newborn Clinical Council, advocating for best newborn care practices across the health system. Dr. Clements has done quality improvement work regarding breastfeeding, safe sleep, neonatal sepsis, and care for babies affecting by neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS). In addition, he uses clinical simulation to teach neonatal resuscitation skills. He is passionate about improving healthcare for underrepresented and marginalized communities and is the Co-Chair of the Department of Pediatrics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Outside of clinical care, he is an executive board member of the Indiana chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
