Bio
Dr. Sturm received her PhD in clinical psychology from Duke University and completed a post doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland Ohio. After 7 years as a psychologist at MetroGeneral Hospital/ CWRU School of Medicine, she joined the Riley Child Development Center/LEND Program at IU School of Medicine. She also iserves as faculty in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics where she participates in Behavioral Science precepting of pediatric residents and is faculty for the Dyson Community Pediatrics Initiative. Her research collaborations include reflective practice of early childhood professionals and factors affecting parental acceptability of childhood vaccines, particularly HPV vaccine, as well as physician-parent communication strategies (e.g. Motivational Interviewing) for vaccine decision making.
