Fellow
Alexander Scherer, MD, PhD
Bio
I grew up in Carmel, Indiana, and am thrilled to be back in the state for fellowship training after going to school on both coasts and completing residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. I entered fellowship excited in hepatology and am excited to complete the combined Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology Fellowship. Outside of hepatology, I have been fortunate to benefit from the breadth of expertise and opportunities Indiana University has to offer in GI as a whole. Outside of work, I spend my time with my wife, who I met in high school in Indianapolis, and our two sons. I enjoy sharing my interests in soccer, baseball, basketball, swimming, and puzzles with our boys.
