Bio
Dr. Simpson currently serves as Assistant professor of clinical surgery. Dr. Simpson received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, and her Masters in Clinical Research from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Simpson completed a fellowship in Advanced GI/Minimally Invasive/Bariatric Surgery at Duke University.
Her clinical focus is in general surgery and includes hernia, abdominal wall reconstruction, and foregut.
Dr. Simpson is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Midwest Surgical Society, and VA Surgeons.
Personal Interests/Hobbies: Running, home-improvement projects, trying new restaurants around the city, visiting family, exploring national parks/beautiful places on vacation (most recently went to Zion National Park and hiked Angels Landing)

Completed a 2-year research fellowship from 2017-2019 under the direction of Dr. C. Max Schmidt, focused on pre-cancerous cysts of the pancreas and HPB surgical outcomes.
Dr. Simpson will focus on quality improvement and surgical outcomes for our VA general surgery population.
