Bio
Dr. Medsker is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He serves as an attending neonatologist at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and Community Hospital North. Dr. Medsker completed his pediatric residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana and his Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During fellowship, Dr. Medsker completed his Master of Public Health at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as part of his research work studying maternal factors contributing to atopic conditions in children. As part of the simulation team at Indiana University, he provides education and simulation training to faculty, fellows, residents, APPs and nursing staff. Dr. Medsker’s academic interest is in simulation education, specifically developing simulation scenarios training providers in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a procedure providing life support in the form of heart-lung bypass.
