Bio

Dr. Sierra Potchanant’s research aims to understand how alteration of genetic pathways in heritable pediatric cancer predisposition disorders elicits tumorigenesis and how to target these pathways for the development of precision therapies. Her work focuses on characterizing the molecular mechanisms of cell cycle dysregulation in Fanconi anemia, a bone marrow failure disorder associated with predisposition to acute myeloid leukemia and other cancers during childhood. Dr. Sierra Potchanant is currently an Assistant Research Professor working with Dr. D. Wade Clapp to identify novel molecular targets for the treatment of pediatric cancers arising from disruption of the Fanconi anemia signaling pathway.
