Bio
Dr. Pitre is an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and has been a faculty member at IUEM since 2005. He graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2002 and from the Indiana University Emergency Medicine Residency in 2005. He works clinically at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He is an ABEM Oral Examiner and Program Director for the Indiana University School of Medicine Methodist Hospital Transitional Year Residency. His clinical interests include traumatic injuries, analgesia, airway management, Pediatric emergency care. His research focuses on transitions in medical education, resident development, and professional sustainability & wellbeing. He is the recipient of the IU School of Medicine Outstanding Clinical Professor in Emergency Medicine Award (2011, 2014) and the IU School of Medicine Trustees’ Teaching Award (2016). Outside of the department, Cory enjoys music appreciation, electric guitar, Cajun recipes, and hot coffee.
