Dr. Haut earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, following undergraduate studies at Brown University. He completed his pediatric residency training and an additional year as Chief Resident at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He completed his pediatric hematology and oncology training at Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University in Chicago and subsequently served on the faculty for 5 years as a transplant physician.
Dr. Haut joined the faculty at the IU School of Medicine in 2002 as Director of the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Program at Riley Hospital for Children. He served in that role until February 2012 when he assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer for Riley Hospital at IU Health. In May of 2017 he became the Chief Operating Officer for Riley Children’s Health.
Dr. Haut is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Children’s Hospital Association, Children’s Oncology Group and the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium.
