Bio

Dr. Lemons has held numerous leadership positions in local, state, and national committees and organizations. Funded by the NIH for over 30 years, he has expertise in basic and clinical research.  He has been an invited lecturer or visiting professor at more than 70 universities around the world.  Author of over 300 articles and book chapters.   He has worked internationally in Kenya to enhance the care for women and newborn infants in sub Saharan Africa, and was responsible for the building of the Riley Mother/Baby Hospital of Kenya.  His primary section focus is to facilitate the career development of the faculty and fellows of the section of Neonatology.  He also directs a program on poverty amelioration, and works on social justice issues focused on children and women.
