Melanie S. Heniff, MD

Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine

Bio

I divide my time between 5 Emergency Departments: Methodist Hospital Indianapolis, Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Anson Free Standing Emergency Department, Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Peds ED and IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

I continue to enjoy teaching at the Methodist site of the IU EM Residency. I have done national lectures and publications in the areas of EM/Peds, particularly on medicolegal topics. I also do medicolegal case review/consulting in the EM/Peds area and work for a large malpractice insurance company on both underwriting and claims advisory committees. I am on the board of a not for profit organization that aims to connect children and their families with nature, with current projects on the East coast. In my free time I love reading, running, traveling with my husband and 3 children, attending school sports events for my children, or in general just spending as much quality time as possible with family and friends.
