Bio

Dr. Erik Streib is originally from Bloomington, Indiana. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University.  A background in emergency medical services and interest in the care of the sick and injured lead him to a career in surgery.  He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine.  He completed his residency training in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  He returned to Indiana in 2002, and is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery at the IU School of Medicine. 

Dr. Streib is the Director of the Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Unit at Eskenazi Health. His administrative and professional interests include promotion of patient safety, evidence based care, and injury prevention.  He is actively involved in the education of surgeons, residents, and students.  He was the recipient of the I.U. Trustee’s Teaching Award in 2008.  He remains a certified EMT in the state of Indiana.
