The IU School of Medicine Health Professions Programs have Technical Standards for Admission and Retention of Students for both the Laboratory Science Programs and Patient Care Programs. Students conditionally admitted to the Cytotechnology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Histotechnology programs operate under the laboratory science standards. Students in all other degree programs operate under the patient care standards. Certificate-seeking students should use the standards for Certification.
As noted in the letter of admission, if an applicant believes that they do not meet one or more of the technical standards, or if an applicant has questions about these standards, they should contact the program. Indiana University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution. For applicants with a disability who need assistance, special arrangements can made to accommodate most needs. Please contact 317-274-3241 for assistance.
Please download, print and sign the appropriate Technical Standards for Admission and Retention of Students form based on program affiliation:
Students are expected to uphold these requirements throughout enrollment in the program. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the program director immediately of any potential changes.
