Bio
Why I chose Family Medicine:
I value the role diversity plays in broadening one’s horizon and wanted to incorporate that into my career as well. Unlike other specialties, family medicine offers broad exposure to both, diverse patient groups as well as diverse pathologies via various outpatient and inpatient settings. I also enjoy forming long-lasting relationships with patients and their families, while promoting preventative strategies and wellness. I believe a residency in family medicine will give me an opportunity to pursue my clinical interests and will provide a platform to advocate for the underprivileged and underserved subpopulations in our communities. As family physicians, we are often the first point of contact to healthcare and are often the first ones to see the health impacts of policies and environmental factors on our communities. I look forward to working in partnership with other like-minded physicians to advocate for better health care policies.
Why I chose IU School of Medicine IU Health Arnett Family Medicine Residency Program?
On the Interview Day, the faculty, admin staff and the residents were very welcoming and encouraging and I truly got a sense of the close-knit family atmosphere at the Arnett FM program. The residents seemed very supportive of each other and this is exactly what I was looking for. A program that is not only diverse but also one that fosters a positive learning environment. I am excited to be here and I look forward to learning from everyone.
