Why I chose Family Medicine:

When I envision the ideal physician in my mind, it is a family medicine physician. Family medicine is the backbone of any health care setting; displaying incredible knowledge, patient care and also team work. The opportunities in this field are so numerous and it offers tremendous flexibility in future practices. Family medicine is the optimal specialty for me to engage and provide healthcare for disadvantaged communities. I aspire to lead and serve diverse and marginalized communities that resemble my own. I envision my practice combatting health care disparities in underserved communities and empowering people to take ownership of their health.

Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program:

From my first interview, I knew that this was the program for me. This program’s steadfast dedication to comprehensive resident education; as well as the strong support each resident receives to ensure that they thrive in their unique career paths, resonated with me wholeheartedly. I also felt an atmosphere of camaraderie and sense of belonging as I interacted with the residents at the social events I attended. The residents spoke so glowingly about this program and their experiences, and I knew immediately that the Indiana University was the place for me.

Interests and hobbies: travelling to distinct and exciting places, going to the gym, biking, reading, yoga and spending time with friends and family.
