Bio

Why I chose Family Medicine: When I was completing my rotations in medical school, I found myself interested in all of the specialties. However, when I was on my family medicine month, the days seemed to pass quickly and I always looked forward to coming into the clinic. I love the range of diagnoses involved in family medicine practice and I enjoy being able to treat family units with a wide variety in age. Each day is a new adventure in family medicine and I thoroughly enjoy being able to sit down and talk with patients to find ways to better their overall health!

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: I grew up approximately 20 minutes from Jasper, Indiana, so I am very familiar with the area and the need for primary care physicians to supply preventative medical care to local citizens. I completed many volunteering hours at the hospital and conducted the majority of my medical school rotations at Memorial Hospital, which allowed me to gain a better understanding of the role the residency program played in the lives of healthcare professionals and patients alike. I like the comradery of the staff at the program and I enjoy the relationships formed with patients in continuity clinic! I look forward to providing care to the residents of the community!

Personal interests and hobbies: Whenever I have free time, I like to bake an assortment of desserts, breads, and pastries! I also enjoy spending time with my daughter, husband, and dog while walking around our neighborhood and exploring local treasures, such as apple orchards and drive-in movie theatres.
