Bio

Why I chose Family Medicine: Family medicine is first-line and at the forefront of our community’s healthcare needs. It is the only field that comprehensively looks at a disease profile in itself as a whole, compares its effects across other systems, and then intertwines it with behavioral health as well as the psychosocial determinants of healthcare. I chose family medicine because it is the platform for advocating for our community to institute change and empower them to understand their health. Moreover, family medicine is a spectrum that allows you to practice medicine in the most broad, versatile, and personalized manner. One gets to the evolution of a community, its composite generations, and the intricacies of the filaments that hold it together. I would eventually like to go to healthcare policy reform and no other field of medicine will prepare me more adequately for this endeavor.

Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: IU aligns beautifully with my interests and values. I was thoroughly impressed by the collegial and supportive environment of the program that exudes comradery. Being in a place where colleagues are truly invested in each others’ wellbeing fosters the best and most productive learning environment possible, and IU is one such place. The faculty and senior residents here truly care about the career and personal development of their residents and ensure that numerous opportunities are available to be explored.?I am particularly interested in the teaching, leadership, global health, and women’s health opportunities IU provides. Also, Indianapolis is my hometown. For a community that has built me, it is time that I contribute to solidify the livelihood of its foundation with persistence, perseverance, compassion, loyalty, and skill.

Interests and hobbies: am passionate about painting, singing, writing, and traveling. I also really enjoy outdoor activities from Eagle Creek Park trails all the way to the National Parks. I love to eat and watch a variety of shows across different genres on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. In my off time, you can always find me at your neighborhood Burlington or HomeGoods.
