Bio

Why Emergency Medicine? Emergency Medicine is the intersection of health and humanity. Meeting patients for the first time on their worst days and supporting them through their most vulnerable moments is a privilege unique to the field. However, my favorite aspect of the Emergency Department is that it serves as a critical access point for care. Because Emergency Departments serve the complexities of the social safety net, each shift is an opportunity for patient advocacy.

Why did you choose the Indiana University School of Medicine Emergency Residency program? I wanted a "forged in fire" style training with a program that felt like family, and that's exactly what IU embodies. I have interests in Advocacy and Social EM, and IU not only has strong mentors in these areas, but also has a multitude of opportunities for community outreach and research. There is also incredible leadership, mentorship, and support for women in EM.

What are some of your personal interests? Hiking with my dogs, trying new breweries with my husband, reading new books, listening to podcasts, and playing lots of video games.
