Bio

Why I chose Family Medicine: What drew me to family medicine was the central nature of the patient-physician relationship in the field. I feel that one of the best ways to have a successful and productive working relationship is by establishing rapport, which is something that is unique to the field of family medicine. The diverse opportunities available to family physicians, especially those practicing in a community setting, and the opportunity to promote health through preventative medicine were additional pull factors for me.

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: The full potential of family medicine is realized in community settings. The opportunity for continuity of care throughout the full spectrum of the field is one reason why I wanted to train in a community-based setting. Additionally, the commitment to excellence in resident training that I witnessed through my interactions with the faculty and staff at the Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program made me choose this program. One of the core faculty who interviewed me stated that she wanted to train residents how she would like her colleagues to be trained and this was an example of the commitment to excellence that I continue to experience now that I am a resident here.

Personal interests and hobbies: Outside of medicine, I enjoy singing, hiking, trying new foods and learning about new cultures and languages!
