Why I chose Family Medicine: I grew up in Toronto, Canada where prevention plays a huge role in health care. I wanted to be able to practice medicine that embodied the importance of prevention and family medicine provided that for me. Most importantly, I cherish the relationship that I form with my patients as it allows me to treat the patient holistically. In addition, I wanted the continuity of care where I was able to provide care for patients from cradle to geriatrics.
Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: I chose this program because it had a very positive learning environment. Everybody was very helpful and friendly. Furthermore, being an unopposed program allowed me to have 1:1 with my attending and opportunities to do more procedures. The program allowed me to tailor my training by doing many electives in my 3rd year. Moreover, it is close to many major cities such as Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN and Evansville, IN which allows me to enjoy and explore many things that those cities offer.
Personal interests and hobbies: I enjoy watching movies, swimming, mindfulness, trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends.
