Why Emergency Medicine? I worked as an Advanced EMT on ambulances in Atlanta and DC before medical school. I enjoyed most rotations in medical school, but felt at home in the ED. I love the variety, the acuity, the stories, and the generalized training of emergency that makes you prepared for such a variety of situations.

Why did you choose the Indiana University School of Medicine Emergency Residency program? I felt at home with the residents at IU. The quality of the training here is superb, and the opportunity to see patients in 3 very busy level one trauma centers was the best opportunity I saw on the interview trail. Especially when everyone I met was so kind, welcoming, down to earth, and there was such a family feel to the program.

What are some of your personal interests? Hanging out with my husband and two large dogs! We frequent many parks around Indy since our dogs are always so happy to go on a car ride somewhere fun. Otherwise, running outside when the weather is nice, playing video games and watching TV with my spouse, reading, and hanging out with my co-residents at social events.
