Psychiatry, PGY 4
University of Nebraska College of Medicine

Bio

Dr. Aloi is a second year psychiatry research track resident. His research integrates neuroimaging, computational modeling, and advanced statistical methodologies to investigate neuro-computational dysfunction underlying decision-making and cognitive/affective processes in adolescent substance use disorders (SUDs).

Dr. Aloi primarily works with Dr. Leslie Hulvershorn on a project investigating neural correlates of decision-making impairments in adolescents with co-morbid externalizing disorders and familial histories of SUDs. He also works with Dr. Kathleen Crum and Dr. Hulvershorn—as well as with collaborators at Boys Town National Research Hospital, the University of Nebraska, UT-Dallas, and NIMH—on several projects investigating neural mediators of the relationship between traumatic stress and adolescent externalizing/substance use behaviors.

Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, working with computers, and cheering on UNC Tar Heels sports.
