Bio
Why I chose family medicine: Throughout medical school I found that I enjoyed all areas of medicine and genuinely loved all my clinical rotations. Due to my many interests, at first, I found it difficult to choose a field to specialize in. Once I experienced my family medicine rotation, I realized that family medicine satisfied all my interests. I could do procedures, work in a hospital and clinic, see patients of all ages and treat a diverse range of pathologies. In addition, I love that as a family medicine physician I am able to build meaningful relationships with patients across their life and be their advocate.
Why I chose the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency Program: The most important factor I looked for in a residency was full spectrum training that would allow me to practice in any setting upon graduation. I felt that this residency program would provide me the robust inpatient service and large volume of complex patient training that I needed. In addition, I am interested in women’s health, so I found being able to tailor your rotations with tracks appealing and plan on pursuing the Women's Health Track. I also wanted to go to a program that would be supportive and become my family. On interview day I could see that the residents and faculty were welcoming and genuinely enjoyed working with each other and coming to work. It was an environment I could immediately see myself thriving in. To top it off, Indianapolis is a great city to live and work in.
Personal interests and hobbies: I love to do anything outside including hiking, biking, walking my dogs and playing in team sports. I also love to try new restaurants and local breweries, play board games, travel and watch college football!
