Austin J. Marett, MD
Resident Appointee
Bio
Austin Marett is a combined resident with the Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics residency at IU. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Marett completed a B.S. degree majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno, followed by his M.D. at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
While most of Dr. Marett's family are originally from Ohio, he chose IUEM not only for its unique combined training program but also for its family mindset. He connected with the staff and residents during the interview process, recognized their close social bonds and sense of community, and valued how supportive and committed they were to one another. The fact that IUEM and Riley Hospital for Children provide some of the best training in the world for emergency medicine and pediatrics doesn't hurt either.
Dr. Marett's professional interests naturally skew toward pediatric emergency medicine with a focus on medical-legal and political advocacy. He enjoys baking with this wife, weightlifting, hiking, and traveling to national parks and around the world. Some of his favorite places in Indy include Kuma's Corner and Bluebeard for food, Bovacanti and Parlor House for coffee, Ruoff Music Center for concerts, and the Canal Walk and Monon Trail for running and biking.
