Why I chose Family Medicine: I have always been interested in family medicine as a career choice, because it is a complete form of medicine in which I get to experience all aspect of medicine. I am very interested in the clinic aspect of FM and its continuity of care, which makes the practice very special. In addition, family medicine is not only about finding the right diagnosis but also about building that relationship and trust with the patients. It is a very rewarding profession for me that will allow me to make a difference with patient’s lives.
Why I chose the IU School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial: I chose the family medicine program in Jasper at Memorial Hospital because I have always been interested in practicing rural medicine. It is a scope of medicine that would allow me to gain more experience, strengthens the scope of my clinical knowledge, and prepares me well for my future practice. And I find that the faculty members in Jasper are very enthusiastic and highly motivated to teach us. Furthermore, the program is unopposed and is associated with Indiana University School of Medicine, which offers an excellent medical education and support for their residents.
Personal interests and hobbies: I enjoy playing soccer, card illusion, and watching movies. I also enjoy watching soccer and NBA basketball.
