Bio

Mohamed Zaazoue, MD, MSc earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. Zaazoue was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates before moving to Egypt (where his parents were born and raised) for medical school.

In 2014, he was named on Forbes “30 Under 30” list as one of the most influential social entrepreneurs in the world for his public health advocacy work in Egypt. Between 2014 and 2015, he served as an adviser to the Egyptian President for community development and healthcare reform. His work was also featured in the Financial Times, as part of their Urban Ingenuity awards.

He completed a neurological surgery residency in Egypt before moving to the United States in 2015. Zaazoue then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School before matching at Indiana University School of Medicine. What attracted him to IU School of Medicine is its excellent surgical training, wide breadth of pathologies treated, and family-friendly environment. He is pursuing an MBA at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business during his residency. Zaazoue is interested in pursuing a career in academic spine surgery with special focus on complex spine procedures.

Outside of work, Mohamed loves to spend time with his wife and two children, and to work out with his wife.
