Why I chose general surgery as a career: Being in the OR and operating is the most intense, gratifying, and beautiful experiences I have ever had. It is without a doubt the only thing I could have imagining myself doing.

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine General Surgery Residency Program: IU School of Medicine has a versatile program that I felt would provide me excellent surgical training and opportunities for fellowship. There is also a dedication to surgical education and investment in their residents that I did not experience from other programs. Now, as a resident, I can say without reservation that I made the right choice. The faculty and other residents have made me feel as part of the family. We succeed, fail, and learn together on a path toward excellence and academic achievement.
