Bio

Why I chose general surgery as a career: General surgery gives the surgeon the opportunity to practice across an incredibly wide range of demographics and pathologies, from the very sick to the relatively healthy. Moreover, new techniques and technologies are constantly being developed that will only add to the number of patients who can be successfully treated with surgical intervention, which makes the general surgery a compelling career now and well into the foreseeable future.

Why I chose the IU School of Medicine General Surgery Residency Program: Firstly, the people; from the administration to the faculty to my now-co-residents, the atmosphere is always collegial, motivating, and fun. Additionally, the acuity of patients and the breadth of experiences make for a great training experience.

Professional/Research Interests: Pediatric surgery, particularly in the area of pediatric transplant and neonatal pathologies.

Personal Interests/Hobbies: Cupcake baking, football watching, and triathlon training.
