Bio
Why I chose general surgery as a career: I enjoy the fast paced nature and quick satisfaction of surgical interventions. Not only are general surgeons capable of managing patients surgically but we are required to manage the whole patient. It’s the complete package.
Why I chose the IU School of Medicine General Surgery Residency Program: IU School of Medicine has it all. All within a couple miles we have a private hospital, VA, children’s hospital, and a county and university hospital. Additionally, it is the only major academic center in the state so you care for the sickest of patients. It presents the best opportunity to learn as a resident.
Professional/Research Interests: HPB patient outcomes, minimally invasive surgery
Personal Interests/Hobbies: I love to watch and play soccer. On weekends when I am not working, you can find me with a pint and in front of my TV watching the EPL or at the pub in my Manchester United jersey. Most of my free time is spent managing my fantasy soccer, basketball and football teams. I love to exercise, especially with my German shepherd/black lab puppy. I also have a huge fluffy cat which I am convinced is part dog.
