Bio
Dr. Wilk currently serves as Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Transplantation at the Indiana University School of Medicine and as an investigator in the William Tierney Center for Health Services Research at the Regenstrief Institute. Dr. Wilk received his doctoral degree in Health Services Organization and Policy, with a Health Economics cognate, from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Prior to joining Indiana University, Dr. Wilk served as Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Wilk’s research focus is on health policy and access to care for marginalized and low-income populations with chronic illnesses, particularly end-stage kidney disease. He has served as principal investigator for more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and a leading contributor for another 15 publications.
Dr. Wilk is a member of the American Society of Health Economists, AcademyHealth, the American Society of Transplantation, and the American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Wilk's research focuses on physician decision-making, access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries and other low-income and marginalized populations, and the management of complex, chronically ill patients, particularly adults with kidney failure. His work focuses particularly on reducing inequity in access to kidney transplantation and home dialysis services.
