Bio
Dr Erick Forno is a pediatric pulmonologist, Professor of Pediatrics, and Vice-Chair for Clinical Research in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children’s Hospital.Dr Forno's overarching research interests include the epidemiology and genomics of asthma; the effects of obesity on childhood respiratory health; leveraging "omics" approaches to identify predictive and response biomarkers in pediatric pulmonary diseases; and the use of technology to improve respiratory health for children.
Dr Forno has served as chair of the Program Committee in the Pediatrics Assembly of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), vice-chair of the ATS Scientific Advisory Committee, and is helping to establish a Severe Pediatric Asthma Consortium in the U.S. He has authored or co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and is funded by grants from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the US National Science Foundation (NSF).
