He also holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiology. Dr. Obeid is a physician-scientist specialized in pediatric epilepsy, and he investigates the mechanisms of epileptogenesis in animal seizure models with the goal of discovering novel treatments.
Dr. Obeid obtained his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, then completed a residency in Child Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York and a fellowship in Pediatric Epilepsy at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard. As the director of the Pediatric Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Riley Children's Health, he works with a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of life of children with epilepsy.
