Bio
Hometown: Saginaw, MI
Dr. Atri graduated from American University of Antigua College of Medicine and spent some time after graduation as a post-doctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore before completing her residency at The Delaware Psychiatric Center Residency Program.
Why CAP at IU?
After spending the last 10 years bouncing around the east coast, I could not be more excited to come back home to the Midwest. IU was a no brainer and I am so blessed to have matched here. I was truly blown away by the comprehensive clinical training experiences and specialty clinics at IU. Interviewing virtually during a pandemic added a bit of uncertainty, but this was immediately quelled upon “meeting” faculty and current fellows. Everyone was so welcoming and the collegiality was evident. I am excited to be a part of this great team and robust academic program with strong leadership!
Career Interests:
At this point in my career, I am particularly interested in family-based assessment and treatment, community mental health and the integrative care health model, mental health advocacy and global mental health. From a pathology standpoint, I am interested in neurodevelopmental disorders psychoneuroimmunology, perinatal psychiatry, first episode psychosis and neuromodulation.
Outside of work:
I am an avid Detroit and Michigan State University sports fan. I love any live sporting event, concerts, festivals, traveling, exploring new areas, getting outside and on the water with my pup, and have been enjoying exploring Indianapolis with my husband!
