Michele S. Tsai Owens, PhD

Bio

Dr. Michele Tsai Owens is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics within the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine and Riley Children’s Hospital. Dr. Tsai Owens completed her graduate training at the University of Kansas, her predoctoral internship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, and her postdoctoral fellowship at Mayo Clinic. As a pediatric cardiac psychologist in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Dr. Tsai Owens provides assessments and targeted interventions for youth and young adults with cardiac conditions as well as consultative services for patients/families admitted to Riley’s cardiac intensive care unit and cardiac stepdown unit. She also conducts research related to mental health screening in young people with heart conditions and preparing adolescents and teens for transitioning from pediatric to adult healthcare.
