Bio

Nicole Fowler, PhD, MHSA, is a health services researcher and implementation scientist whose overarching focus is on behavioral and other nonpharmacologic approaches to support dementia care and family caregiving.

Dr. Fowler’s research is focused on the development, testing, and comparison of evidence-based and patient-centered interventions that improve the quality of care for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and their family caregivers, in particular medical decision-making interventions to support family caregivers. Her research is funded by the National Institute on Aging, and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Dr. Fowler is committed to advancing research that will have immediate relevance to patients and families faced with health care choices. The goals of her research are to help clinicians better integrate and apply evidence-based care to older adults with dementia and to help policymakers identify better ways to measure and promote quality care for older adults in all health care settings.
