Bio
Dr. Hala Fatima graduated from the Aga Khan University Medical College in 1998. She then pursued her internal medicine residency followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship both at Indiana University, where she stayed on as faculty and has been since 2006. She is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Indiana University and is the Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Eskenazi Health and the Director of Endoscopy. She is a fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. Her niche is endoscopic treatment of Barrett’s esophagus and early esophageal cancer. She offers endoscopic treatments like Radiofrequency ablation, cryotherapy, and endoscopic mucosal resection for treatment of Barrett’s esophagus and early esophageal cancer as well as endoscopic fundoplication for refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease. She also has a keen interest in colorectal cancer screening, polypectomy, GERD, eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal strictures, esophageal and colonic stents.
