Bio
Dr. Lixian Chen joined the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in August, 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Indiana Center for Liver Research (ICLR). Her research interest focuses on the regulation of cholangiocyte damage during primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Dr. Chen’s current projects are aimed to explore the roles of melatonin receptor 1 and alpha calcitonin gene-related peptide in the pathogenesis of NAFLD. She is also invested to understand the role of melatonin signaling with the context of late stage PBC.
