Dr. Rodriguez currently serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery. Dr. Rodriguez received her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Missouri Columbia School of Medicine. She completed her residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Memphis and her Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Her clinical focus is Trauma/Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, and she serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Trauma ICU and Associate Trauma Medical Director at IU Methodist Hospital. Having seven years of emergency medical services experience, Dr. Rodriguez also serves as Trauma Outreach Director with a focus on EMS Education and advocacy. Her research focus is quality and process improvement.
Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, American College of Surgeons, Association of Academic Surgery, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and National Association of EMS Physicians. She recently completed service on the Global Affairs Committee for the Association for Academic Surgery and as Education Taskforce Leader of the Injury Control Violence Prevention Committee for the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
