Bio

Chad Galer, MD, joined Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in 2009. As an assistant professor of otolaryngology—head and neck surgery, Dr. Galer specializes in head and neck cancer surgery as well as adult otolaryngology. Dr. Galer earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine before completing a residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a fellowship at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research primarily focuses on head and neck cancers.

Dr. Galer is a member of Ethics and Professionalism and Prevention and Early Detection committees for the American Head and Neck Society; the state chair for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, for Indiana; co-director of the Neck/Larynx Section for the annual Anatomy and Histopathology of the Head and Neck and Temporal Bone Course at IU School of Medicine; a fellow of the American College of Surgeons; and a member of both the American Head and Neck Society and the Society of University Otolaryngologists.
