Bio
Dr. Sanders is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Sanders completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sanders holds membership in the American Thoracic Society and the Society for Pediatric Research. His research focuses on early lung disease and pulmonary exacerbations in people with cystic fibrosis.

Dr. Sanders conducts epidemiologic, translational, and clinical research in children with CF. The focus of Dr. Sanders research is the impact of early life events and pulmonary exacerbations on lung disease in children with CF. Current projects include a multicenter study to understand the contribution of antibiotics to the airway and GI microbiome in infants with CF, and multicenter studies to optimize the treatment of pulmonary exacerbations in children and adults with CF.
