Bio
Dr Emily Gould is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Indiana University. She is from Ontario, Canada and earned her Bachelor of Sciences, Honors degree at Queen’s University in Life Sciences, and completed her Doctor of Medicine Degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. She then completed her Family Medicine Residency at Indiana University – Methodist Family Medicine Residency (now the IU Health Primary Care Central Indianapolis Family Medicine Residency), where she served as Chief Resident in her third year. She then joined the residency program in 2018 as the Assistant Residency Director of Women’s Health and has been leading the Women’s Health and Obstetrics curriculum since then. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Her current area of clinical focus includes prenatal care, operative obstetrics, and newborn nursery, although she enjoys full scope family medicine. She initiated a Centering Pregnancy Program at the residency clinic and is currently working towards obtaining certification as a lactation consultant. At the residency, she runs the OB Track for residents wanting a focus on Obstetrics during their training.

Dr Gould’s clinical interests include Preventative Medicine, Women’s Health and Obstetrics, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, and general Primary Care Medicine. In 2022 she was awarded a grant from the Indiana Department of Health to start a Centering Pregnancy Program at the Family Medicine Residency. She has a passion for teaching and enjoys working with learners clinically, through formal didactics time and in one on one education sessions. She completed the Faculty Fundamentals Certificate Program through the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. She serves on serval multidisciplinary committees on Labor and Delivery helping to improve system wide Obstetrics Care, and various committees within the Family Medicine Residency Program to help with continual improvement of the program. She also sits on the Faculty Steering Committee at Indiana University.
