Brian D. Benneyworth, MD, MS
Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Dr. Brian Benneyworth is a trained Health Services Researcher and Pediatric Intensivist. He has clinical experience with general Medical/Surgical Intensive Care and Cardiac Intensive Care patients. His research has focused on using available administrative data to evaluate the epidemiology and healthcare utilization of patients who are managed in Pediatric ICU settings. He has experience with Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project data and the Pediatric Health Information System. He has also incorporated existing registry data into his previous and current work. He is the Director of the Congenital Heart Disease Datacenter at Riley Hospital for Children which manages the registry submissions to the Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and National Cardiovascular Data Registry. His current work seeks to further the understanding of the relative strengths and weaknesses of various existing data sources.

Dr. Benneyworth's research interests are focused on defining the epidemiology of pediatric critical care in terms of what types of critical care services are delivered and how they are delivered in various clinical settings.He is interested in defining the relationship between the delivery of critical care services and the patient's long term outcomes.
